Need advice on modifing WRX Auto. Just got the last gen WRX auto and went around looking for places to modify.
Need advice on which reputable shop to go to coz everyone tells me Garage R, Mcwell, Silent, fabulous, artisitc, ST powered, LTM, etc expensive then where would be an affordable place?
I intend to install the following things and went to some of the above places for quotes and the price range difference is shocking. Can someone tell me what is the right price range and brand i should go for?
1. Air Intake (Quoted from $100 to $400)
2. Front lip (Quoted from $60 to $900)
3. Rear Bottom diffuser (Quoted from $50 to $1200)
4. Rear bumper apron (Quoted from $60 to $1000)
5. Exhaust. Apparently only can use HKS or APEXI (Quoted $800-$1600). Which exhaust is better? For 2,3 and 4 i don't mind replica 3rd party brands. When i read hot stuff mag, they advertise whole bodykit for $650 but when you go there, after all the extra charges it is around $3000. Is that the standard practice?
Would really apreciate any advice or recommendations.
Thank you

WRX haven would be BMS.
Exhaust go for HKS Legamax. Perhaps you can go to subaruclub to look for deals. Saw someone selling a Legamax for abt 600 bucks.
All the above shops you mentioned is not actually expensive unless you are talking abt going to places like Garage R or LTM to tune your car. If you want to do basic things like CAI, bodykit and exhaust, all these places would be a good place to start with.

Thank you for all your replies.
It is the 07’ 4SPD AUTO WRX Sedan. What’s actually shocking me is the quotation on the same parts from different workshops. Example:
- Hurricane air intake with pipe, $100 with pipe to $400($250 for the pipe).
- Front lip with painting and installation with replica part ($60 -$900)
Which is why I am so confused.
Is Motorimage really so sticky about warranty? Should I find a friendly workshop that will take out all the parts before servicing and reinstall after? Or should I stick to just servicing outside. Question is do these workshops have the equipment to service the cars. I have heard that outside workshops do a better job and use better engine oil. Any truth?
Sorry if these are really noobie questions…

Warranty wise, if you have free servicing by MI, then they will most probably not be sticky about an intake here, a strut bar there. To be honest your GD rex is not uncommon, there are many workshops, with some specially catering to imprezas, and your GD rex does not have a plenthora of electronics which may potentially go wrong as well, and yes, at external workshops you have the option of using your own higher spec-ed engine oil, albeit at a higher cost.
For your intake, parts wise, the price is more or less the same depending on the markup, the discrepency is most likely due to the different charges for installation. Depending on the complexity of the installation, such as exhaust systems, decat, demuff etc, is still better to go to a better known workshop. For intake wise its more a matter of plug and play so smaller workshops should be able to install for you at cheaper labour rates.
zerocool is right, yes the workshops mentioned above may charge higher rates, but at least their parts and labour is proven, and even if something does go wrong with their workmanship you can be assured they have a reputation to protect and will rectify, unlike unknown workshops that can open and close in ubi only to pop up at sin ming area, for example.
For your GD chasis rex, you are in luck, there are lots of exhaust systems for it, such as fujitsubo and supersprint, HKS silent hipower and Apexi N1.
